What is powder brows?
Powder brows is a form of permanent makeup using a machine, unlike microblading where we use a hand held tool using our own pressure only.
The main difference between powder brows and microblading is the finished result and skin suitability, meaning this method can be suitable for more skin types.
Powder Brows is exactly as it sounds, to give a similar appearance to powder in the brows, for example, how you may draw your brows on. This will give a slightly fuller and more filled in appearance than that of microblading hair strokes, however can still look soft and natural.
There may be certain circumstances where you would be more suitable for a powder brow over microblading, for example, someone with an oily skin type would be better suited with this method along with a more mature client or those will delicate skin.
How long does it last?
Powder brows on average will last between 1-2 years. You can book an annual top up within this time to maintain the look. Your powder brows may fade quicker if you are in the sun alot, use sunbeds and do not protect the brows with an SPF 50.
Certain skincare products can also fade your brows quicker, including glycolic acid, AHA or other fruity acids.
Can anyone have Powder Brows?
Powder brows is available to almost all clients! There may be some medical conditions or medications that can prevent this for example
Those with allergies to the products and reactions to testing.
Those who have had botox within the last 2-4 weeks
Accutane medication
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Heart conditions and medications
Those on blood thinning medications
Those with serious medical conditions, and on medications may need to seek doctors approval
Powder brows is suitable for those with little, to a lot of hair, for all skin types. Those with an oily skin type will find this treatment much more successful than microblading.

FAQs
Does it hurt?
There will be mild to no pain during the procedure, the brows may begin to feel slightly tender towards the end of your treatment but you will be kept completely comfortable throughout your procedure. Numbing creams can be used to ensure complete comfort throughout!
How long does the procedure take?
Please set aside 2 hours for the procedure, this time includes a consultation, pre draw and the microblading procedure, however your treatment may be complete within 1.5 hours.
How long is the healing process? Will they look bad?
The full healing time for the treatment is 4 weeks, however they will visibly heal within around 2 weeks. Immediately after the treatment the area may be slightly red and the pigment will appear slightly darker than the healed colour. The brows will begin to darken during healing a couple of days after your procedure before they begin to flake/scab. They can look dry during this time however it won't be anything to stop you from continuing your day as normal.
They will begin to lighten and almost appear as though they have disappeared. This is completely normal as the skin begins to repair itself, and will then begin to resurface once healed. We will then finish any patchy areas in your touch up 4-6 weeks later.
Do I need the retouch 6 weeks later?
Yes you will be required to attend this appointment to complete the procedure, as certain skin types will retain the pigment better than others. We can also make any small adjustments in this appointment, with colour and shape. The touch up appointment is included in the full price so you won't need to pay any extra!
